About Content Removal
Content Removal is a long-form Australian journal about how harmful, outdated or unlawful material is taken down, de-indexed, corrected or left standing. The domain once sat empty. The problem it named did not. This desk exists so that people searching for help in Australian English find reporting, not a parking page.
We write for readers who have already tried the report button: company secretaries, school principals, small retailers, junior doctors, people named in a forum thread they never joined. The work is discreet in tone and specific in method. We do not publish case studies that identify private individuals, and we do not take takedown retainers through this site.
What we cover
The library is organised into five topic hubs: platform takedowns, Australian law, search and archives, records and data brokers, and image, safety and impersonation. Each hub collects guides that can be read in an afternoon and used the same week.
How the desk works
Copy is written in Australian English and checked against current statutes, platform help pages and regulator guidance. We distinguish a legal right from a platform discretion, and a deletion from a de-index. Where the law is unsettled we say so. Corrections run through the contact form and are logged against the article.
Guest contributors should read the write-for-us guidelines before pitching. Paid mentions, where we accept them at all, carry rel="sponsored". The editorial standards set out independence, sources, conflicts and the line we will not cross on identifying victims of image-based abuse.
Contact
The desk is edited from Melbourne. Email support@worldwidebacklinks.com or use the contact page. We are a publication, not a law firm and not a removal agency. Nothing on this site is legal advice.
